The Prinja Project is a small enterprise, established in 2019 and owned by mother-daughter duo; Chitra and Nikhita.
Our story dates back to my (Nikhita's) childhood memories with my grandmother – a fiery soul, a freedom fighter, a devout wife, mother and grandmother – Mrs. Janak Prinja.
The values imbibed in what we create are an impression of values that we adopted while growing up with her.

Sustainability and upcycling was inherent to our home. My grandmother would upcycle and recycle old garments, rags, sarees, scarfs, and scraps of fabrics, turning them into beautiful frocks, jholas, cushion covers, embroidered hankies, and many other useful things – all handmade and unique in their own way.
She would collect scraps of waste fabrics from nearby tailors to upcycle them and turn them into something beautiful giving them a new life and meaning. Once it’s use was over, it would become a mop or a dusting clothing until it dies a natural death.
Taking inspiration from the same in dedication to my grandmother we started The Prinja Project – with a vision to inspire people to consider a garments lifecycle and purpose, along with embracing the beauty of handmade clothing.

We are passionate about what we do and take pride in our work.
We believe that fashion should be created with intention and care, and that the people who make our clothes should be treated with dignity and respect.
Our small team of 3 people consist of highly skilled and experienced professionals who are dedicated to providing the best possible quality clothing to our clients.
